Background
I worked at Sheffield & Ford (Builders) Limited from being a young lad after school.
Sheffield
and Ford specialised in all areas of building and maintenance and
accommodated all types of property from tenanted accommodation through
to Grade I Listed stately homes.
In the
past I have been involved in the restoration of the Ballroom at Burley
on the Hill following the discovery of dry rot behind the ornate plaster
and oak panelling.
The
William Cecil Hotel in Stamford was a very interesting contract to be
the project manager working to a strict deadline with over 50 operatives
on site.
I was
also responsible for producing the estimate and overseeing the project
to convert Top West at Burghley House for Miranda and Orlando. I have
been the project manager for many contracts around Stamford School
working with the local architects and direct with the school bursars.
As a
Company, we were and still are very proud to have been the main
contractor for the complete construction of the Garden of Surprises for
Lady Victoria.
